Hi everyone, it’s Matthew. This post is for The Tommy Atkins Trust, for their Launch Event on the 12th November at 1330 at ASPIE, as well as a Charity Auction at The Chestnut Tree pub at 1430.
Jane Shields has this to say about the centre:
“Here in Worcester we’re very pleased to be able to announce the official opening of our Tommy Atkins Centre for veterans on Sunday 12th November at 13.30. In a nutshell, the Centre is to become a hub for all veterans as both a meeting point and also to access assistance from services such as SSAFA, Combat Stress, Royal British Legion, Blind Veterans, and any other valuable organisations we can entice here.
Also we are very keen to organise some workshops which might be of interest to our local veterans. We have access to musical equipment, and we’re in the process of acquiring an allotment for those with green fingers who’d like to have a dabble… along with creative writing, and access to computers which we can assist you with if necessary, we can offer a friendly cuppa and chat if you’re at a loose end, or a fully equipped games room where you can challenge a friend to a game of pool or table top soccer. Whatever your needs, please come along and meet Jane and Marie who will gladly show you around and spend a little time reminiscing with you, or point you into the right direction for any assistance you may require. We’re here for you…..”
